Rice Tuna Salade

Think of this as your no-stress, budget-friendly sushi bowl. It’s fresh, it’s filling, and it somehow makes you feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you’re just tossing things into a bowl between deadlines. The mix of creamy tuna, crunchy veggies, and warm rice hits all the right notes. Bonus: it keeps well, so you can meal-prep it or just eat the whole thing in one go. No judgment.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna
  • 1 tomato
  • ¼ red bell pepper
  • ½ avocado
  • ½ cucumber
  • 5 pickles
  • 1 red onion
  • Mayonnaise
  • Soy sauce
  • Rice
  • Optional: Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prep the veggies
Dice the tomato, red bell pepper, and avocado into bite-sized pieces. Chop the pickles, cucumber, and red onion into small bits for max flavor in every spoonful.
  2. Make the tuna mix
Drain the tuna, mash it up in a bowl, and stir in a spoonful of mayo and a splash of soy sauce. Creamy, salty, delicious.
  3. Cook the rice
Follow the instructions on the package (we’re not reinventing the wheel). Once done, add a little soy sauce and give it a good mix.
  4. Put it all together
In a big bowl, layer the rice, tuna mix, and chopped veggies. Stir it gently, add a squeeze of lemon juice if you’ve got it, and boom, salad complete!

Common questions

What is Berry Lemon actually about?

Berry Lemon is a chill, student-friendly platform that helps you figure out what to eat without the stress. Think simple, affordable meals you can actually make, with ingredients you probably already have. It’s like having a food-savvy roommate who’s always got a good idea for dinner.

Are the meals expensive or hard to shop for?

Nope! The whole idea is that they’re budget-friendly and student-proof. Most recipes are built with what’s already in your fridge or pantry. No weird ingredients, no €15 shopping trips, just real food you can afford.

Do I need to be good at cooking to use Berry Lemon?

Not at all. Whether you’ve never cooked more than pasta or you’re already the go-to chef in your friend group, Berry Lemon is made for everyone. The recipes are easy, no-nonsense, and flexible. No fancy techniques. Just good food.

Can I share my own recipes too?

Not yet, but stay tuned. Berry Lemon is starting with our favorite go-to meals, but the dream is to build a community where students can share their own creations, tips, and food hacks. Basically, we’re building the student cookbook we all wish we had.
